The Institutional Ethical Review Board (IERB) is established to ensure that all research activities conducted within the institution adhere to accepted ethical standards and principles. The board functions as an independent body responsible for reviewing, approving, and monitoring research proposals involving human participants, data, or sensitive information to safeguard the rights, dignity, safety, and wellbeing of all stakeholders. Its primary objectives include promoting ethical research practices, ensuring compliance with national and international ethical guidelines, and fostering a culture of integrity and responsibility in research. The IERB also provides guidance and oversight to researchers, supports ethical decision-making, and ensures transparency and accountability throughout the research process. By upholding ethical rigor, the board enhances the credibility of research outcomes, protects participants, and strengthens the institution’s commitment to responsible and socially accountable scholarship.
